Gianni Gebbia

Selftaught, Gianni moved to NYC from 1979 to 1980, where he got in touch
with the Loft scene. In 1990 he won the Best italian Jazz new talent poll in
Italy from the Musica Jazz Magazine. He's considered one of the best
specialist worldwide in the circular breathing technique and has been touring
solo in Japan, USA and Europe playing in the most famous jazz
festivals as Northsea, Festival Banlieues Bleues, Saalfeden etc.
His name and bio is inside the Jazz Encyclopedia by B.Morton for
Penguin books and the Grove Dictionary of Jazz. He has recorded
more than 50 albums, collaborating with composers as Heiner Goebbels
Fred Frith, Han Bennink, Ernst Reijsiger and with theatres and choreographers as
well as composing soundtracks for movies. Gianni Gebbia directs his own recording
label called objet-a.
