Mario Mazza
Flutist and educator
Maestro Mario Mazza studied at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz (Austria) in the class of prof. Nils Thilo Kramer and at the Emilia Romagna Music Academy with prof. Giorgio Zagnoni. Piccolo player at the "Città di Soncino" Wind Orchestra, winner of the First Prize with Honorable Mention at the 2001 Valencia International Competition and absolute First Prize with Golden Flugelhorn at the Riva del Garda International Band Competition. Winner of national and international competitions: Acqui Terme, Varenna, Moncalieri, Turin, Cortemilia, Rome, Genoa, Tortona, Prato, Grosseto, Montescudo. Semifinalist at the "Maria Canals" Competition in Barcelona.
He collaborated with the Emilia Romagna Symphony Orchestra "A. Toscanini" with which he performed throughout Italy with conductors such as Daniele Callegari, Fedor Gluschensko, Massimo De Bernart, Angelo Campori, Romano Gandolfi, Marcello Rota, Renato Serio, Peter Hirsch, Ilan Mochiach, Herbert Handt and soloists such as Leo Nucci, Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni, Carlo Bergonzi, Andrea Bocelli, Katia Ricciarelli, Josè Carreras and Grigory Sokolov. Again with the "A. Toscanini" Orchestra he took part in the Bologna Concert on 27 September 1997 in the presence of S.S. John Paul II
